Use

A snorkel doesn't make a car waterproof. The axles, transmission, and wiring have to handle themselves in deep water. But the air intake is usually the first place water gets into the engine, and that problem is solved.

When driving in snow and mud in winter and spring, the air intake is protected from splashes.

Installation

To install the snorkel, you need to cut an air hole in the wing and drill mounting holes in the A-pillar. There is no installation template included, measure and mark the holes yourself. You will need a drill, hole saw and sealant for the job.
