Why this

The FJ is made for rock climbing, but the original sheet metal protection is thin. The 6mm aluminum allows the car to slide over rocks, not get caught on them. The crankcase and lower engine parts remain intact.

The plate is laser cut and press-bent, finished by hand. The guard is designed specifically for the 4.0 petrol and automatic FJ, so the mounting holes and shape match its engine bay. Aluminum does not rust and is lighter than steel plate.

If you drive your FJ over rocks or in a quarry, this plate is the first thing you should put under the car. The plate is easy to remove for oil changes, so maintenance is less of a hassle. A rock mark on aluminum is cheaper than a new crankcase.
