On a rocky path
Under the Hilux Travo, the gearbox is one of the first things to hit when you hit a rock or stump. The 6mm aluminium absorbs the impact and allows the car to slide over. A dented plate is cheaper to replace than a broken gearbox housing. Aluminium is lighter than steel, so the weight of the car does not increase significantly.
The plate is laser cut and shaped on a bending machine, then hand finished, so it sits exactly in place and doesn't rattle. If you drive the Travo in a quarry, on a rocky forest road or on a mountain trail, the gearbox is covered and you won't have to go to repair it after one hit. Before ordering, check that your car has a manual transmission.
Installation
All mounting hardware is included. The plate bolts on and can be removed just as easily if necessary, for example for maintenance. The product may differ in some details from the image.
