Big wheel at the back
The Discovery II's rear door carries a spare wheel from the factory, and with a larger off-road tire, the hinges start to suffer. The holder takes on this weight. A gas spring helps open and close the holder on sloping terrain. The design dampens vibrations so there's no rattling in the cabin.
The holder is laser-cut and CNC-bent from 4 mm steel, the final shape is given by hand finishing. Corrosion protection is provided by zinc powder primer and fine-structure matt black RAL 9005 powder paint. The spare wheel is securely held in the holder and can be accessed without having to open the rear door with difficulty. Changing a tire on the track is faster if the wheel is not somewhere under the box.
Installation
All fasteners are included. If desired, you can also order another RAL color from the manufacturer.
