Big wheel, healthy souls
The TJ's rear door carries the spare wheel on hinges from the factory. If you put a larger off-road tire on it, the hinges and the door will suffer. Here, the weight of the wheel goes to the bar and the rear door hinges remain free. A gas spring helps open and close the holder even when the car is tilted. The attachment is made so that vibration and noise are not transmitted to the cabin.
The holder is made of 4 mm sheet metal, laser cut and bent on a CNC machine, finished by hand. The paint is zinc powder primer under the paint, and on top is a fine-structured matte black RAL 9005; other RAL shades are available on request. The spare wheel is also available when the car is muddy and the rear is knee-deep in mud – open the holder and the wheel comes off.
Installation
The mounting hardware is included. The hi-lift jack holder shown in the photos is not included.
