Why aluminium
The Y61 is heavy straight from the factory, and once a winch goes on the front the front axle carries all of it every day. An aluminium bumper adds less weight to the nose than a steel one, yet it still fixes to the chassis with steel brackets and has the winch mount built in. Shackle mount points are ready, so there's somewhere to hook a strap or rope when someone else pulls you out.
The aluminium is also shot blasted and epoxy primed before powder coating, and the bolts are stainless. The parts are laser cut, bent on a CNC press brake and finished by hand.
Installation
The kit includes all mounting hardware, the bumper bolts to the frame and can be removed when needed. Shackle mounts are not included – you can add them from the options.
Delivery
Light material, but still a big package – it ships as palletised freight and won't fit in a parcel locker.
If the manufacturer has none in stock, it is made within 2 weeks.
Fitting a front bumper is a modification to the vehicle's construction, so check the Estonian Transport Administration's registration requirements before driving on public roads.
