The Hilux and reversing
The back of a Hilux takes plenty of hits off-road – climbing out of a ditch, coming down off a stump or reversing along a narrow forest track. Here the knock is taken by a steel bumper fixed to the chassis with 5 mm frame mounts.
If the way ahead is blocked, the truck can be pulled out from behind via a shackle mount. The two hi-lift points are for lifting the rear when a wheel has sunk into the mud. The bolts are stainless and will still undo after several winters.
Installation
All mounting hardware is included and the bumper bolts on, and comes off again when needed. Shackle mounts are not included – you can add them from the options.
Delivery
Because of its size and weight, the bumper comes as palletised freight and will not fit in a parcel locker.
If the manufacturer does not have it in stock, production takes 2 weeks.
The bumper is not homologated, and fitting it is a modification to the vehicle's construction – before using it on public roads, check the Estonian Transport Administration's registration requirements.
