One hard rock on a forest road and the tank is dented or worse. The aluminum plate absorbs the impact and doesn&#039;t add much weight.<\/p>\n<p>The plate is laser cut and bent on a press, the finish is done by hand. The 6 mm thick aluminum is stiff enough that even a heavy van&#039;s belly won&#039;t press into the tank when it rests on rocks. Aluminum doesn&#039;t rust and keeps the car&#039;s weight lower than a steel plate.<\/p>\n<p>Tank protection is especially important for a camper van or forestry vehicle, as the tank is large and the clearance of a van is less than that of an SUV. A rock in the middle of a forest road will reach the tank before you notice it.<\/p>\n<h2>Installation<\/h2>\n<p>All mounting hardware is included.
